It is almost HalloweenTime to get your costumes together for the annual SOSS Halloween Costume ContestThis year, to be eligible for contest, you must sign up on the sheets outside of the Zen Den – Fill in your group, and most importantly, your theme songTomorrow is the last day to sign up.  Let’s make this contest the best ever.  Make sure you get the chance to be in the spotlight. 

 

  1. A reminder to all those who have signed up to volunteer at the Laser Strike Haunted Asylum – set up starts today after schoolPlease be aware of the times you have signed up forSee Mrs. Pod if you need more information.

  1. The Jr Boys Volleyball Team continued their busy schedule with a tournament at OKM in Kelowna. The Hornets came out a bit flat on Friday but saw their play improve as the weekend progressed. The boys beat OKM B in the quarter final but could not get past a consistent OKM A team to advance to the final. The boys finished in a tie for 3rd place.  

 

  1. Today at 4pm the Jr Boys host their final league matches of the year with games vs Princess Margaret and Pen Hi. Come out and cheer on your Hornets. 

 

  1. Volleyball at lunch in the small gym. 

 

  1. Today is the day! Anyone with an October birthday please pop by the counselling area at lunch for a special treat. We look forward to seeing you 

 

  1. The Senior Field Hockey team won the Valley Championship game Thursday, defeating their opponent decisively, 3-0. Audrey Noftle, Ishmeet Dhaliwal and Olivia Goncalves scored for SOSS, and Lilah Smith played her best game of the season. The girls went on to win their tournament pool at the Golden Pumpkin tournament and are now headed to the AA Provincials in Victoria. Well done, Hornets!! 

            This message is for students who will be taking French 10 in second semester. As you may have heard, there                  will be a guest speaker coming to our school on Tuesday, October 29 at 1:30. The speaker will be sharing                          information about student exchanges to France and Belgium. If you think that you might be interested in                        participating in an exchange to France or Belgium next year, and if you have your Block D teacher's permission,              please come to Ms. Arnason's room (#203) right after your Block C class on Tuesday, October 29. The session                  will be approximately 30 minutes long.
