SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL  

FRIDAY OCTOBER 18, 2024 

1. Any students interested in travelling to Africa or Asia, there will be a meeting in room 103 TODAY. 

1. Any students interested in being part of starting a mountain bike club or team, please be sure to attend a meeting TODAY at lunch in room 202. Teams message Mr. Baerg if you are unable to be there. 

1. Any students who would like to enter the Legion Poster or Literary contest, please pick up forms from the office. The deadline to return your entry is November 12th! 

1. SAGA meets today at lunch in Ms. Kingsfield's art room. 

1. Hey SOSS – we are looking for anyone who is interested in helping put together this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony. This could be you if: you like history, are good with techie stuff, have good organizational skills, are comfortable being on stage, or just like giving back to your community. See Mrs. Stopa or Mrs. G if you’re interested.

1. The Town of Oliver is looking to hear from the youth in this community. They are hosting a pizza night during their next council meeting on October 29th and would like some of you to attend! This is a great opportunity to learn what the town is doing to address current issues, as well as their future plans. If you are curious about local politics, or think there should be more services and facilities available for you, grab a friend and sign up outside the office or see Mrs. Stopa.  

1. Last night, the junior girls volleyball team travelled to Keremeos They defeated the Keremeos sparks in both sets. After two tough sets the girls  lost to  pen high in game two.
