SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL  

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2024 

  

1. Okanagan College is hosting a Pow Wow, if any indigenous students in grade 10, 11, or 12 are interesting in attending, please see the crew in the gathering room to sign up. We will also be having a Grade 11/12 meeting for Indigenous students September 17th from 10: 30 until lunch time, lunch will be provided.  

 

1. Boys and Girls group is starting again! Please see the crew in the gathering room to sign up, space is limited! 

 

1. Today in the Caf it is Bahn Mi Sandwiches and Ramen Soup. 

 

1. Snack shack is closed today. 

 

1. Grade 8 indigenous students there is a lunch in the gathering room today. 

 

1. Orange Shirt Day is coming up. We have some shirts for purchase if you are interested- $15 see Mrs. Wilkie as supplies are limited 

 

1. Are you interested in playing DnD? Tuesday at lunch in the library there will be a meeting to sign up. If you can’t attend, please see or message Tara Havig.

 

1. Grade 11/12 students – Post Secondary Institution Day is this Monday. Representatives from 15 different BC Colleges and Universities will be sharing information and answering questions. Instead of attending C and D block classes you will be signing up for two presentation sessions. Yes, everyone needs to sign up for two. Sign-up sheets are on the windows outside Mrs. Schori’s room. School names and room numbers of the presentations are on the sheet. Grade 12’s, this will count as 2 hours for your CLC assignment.  

 

1. SAGA (sexual and gender alliance) is meeting in the Art room today at lunch. All students are welcome. 

 

1. The Art club starts on Monday after school and will run from 2:45-4 in the art room. All students are welcome. Please see Mrs. Kingsfield for more information.
