  1. Today in the Caf it is Greek Chicken bowls and chicken noodle soup. 
     
  1. EVERY DAY UNTIL MAY 17, thank you – Attention SOSS Students, as we are rapidly approaching awards season, we need your help! Nominations are now open for YOU to put names forward for this year’s SOSS Citizenship Award – this award is aimed at recognizing someone who inspires and supports their peers through their actions and words. Ballots can be found with Ms. Koffler in the office, and the deadline is May 17th.  

 

  1. The Jr and Sr Hornet Ultimate teams travelled to Vernon yesterday to compete in the Okanagan Valley Championships. The Sr. Squad lost a close first match to Merritt 9-7 which set the table for the bronze medal game against Maggie. The Hornets went on to defeat their opponents 13-5. This opened the door for a challenge match against Summerland for 2nd place on Thursday @ 4:00 in Summerland. The Jr. Squad entered the day with the top seed and an automatic berth into the championship game. The Jr’s played some of their best ultimate of the season going on to dominate the Summerland Jr. Squad 13-1. The Jr’s will be headed to provincials in Surrey on May 25/26 to compete against the best teams across the province. We are so proud of you Hornets and good luck to the Sr. Team in their challenge match for 2nd place tomorrow!  

 

  1. OES Track Meet – All students who are helping with the OES Track Meet are asked to head up to the OES Field at 8:30 today 
     
  1. Attention grads, the Oliver Elks bursary application is available in the office now. Applications are due TODAY May 8th.  Also Grads Prom tickets are on sale this week and next week.  A table will be set up outside the Zen Den at lunch. Tickets are $75 each. 

 

  1. Drop-in Soccer – Staff and students who are 16 or older who are interested in playing soccer are invited to come out to the top field this evening at 5:30pm. 
     
  1. Volleyball in the small gyn today at lunch. 

 

  1. I reminder that there is pickleball at lunch today in the big gym. Everyone is welcome. 

 

  1. The AP English Lit exam will be written in room 208 today from 8:30am to approximately 12:30. Students are asked to please be extra quiet in the upstairs hallway, including during lunch.
