- Grads – A Prom Food survey and Dry grad survey have been posted on Teams. Voting closes this Friday, so make sure you vote for your choices before it’s too late!
- The Hornet’s X-Country Running team travelled to Salmon Arm yesterday to compete in the Okanagan Valley Championships in some cold conditions. Our lone female runner, Ava Kosaka finished 32nd overall in the Jr. Girls 4 KM race. Next, the Sr. Boys competed in the 5 KM race. Curran Davies led the charge finishing 12th overall. Gage Heise finished 17th Ezra Allenbrand finished 20th Thomas Horan finished 23rd Hugo Pickell Finished 27th Ari Kendrick finished 28th and Jesse Wyatt finished 39th . The boys finished with a total score of 72 points which was first place for AA schools and 3rd place overall leading to a birth in the X-Country BC Provincial Championships in Surrey on November 4th . Congratulations on your strong effort team!
- GRADS – We need more volunteers to help cook and serve breakfast for the school this Thursday, Oct. 26. There is a sign-up sheet outside Mrs. Burns’ room.
- New volunteer opportunity – Any Grade 11 or 12 students interested in getting volunteer hours or making some money are encouraged to tutor at Sen Pok Chin’s new math support program. This program is aimed towards Indigenous high school students seeking extra help. The program will begin on Monday October 30th and run every Monday and Thursday from 3:15 – 58:15 at Sen Pok Chin School. Students interested in volunteering can contact Emma Milllward on Teams with questions and availability. Find the sign-up sheet posted outside Mrs. Burns room. Deadline for sign up is Friday November 3rd.
- Any Indigenous grade 12 students interested in going to see UBCO please see Shynai or Jessica for information and a permission form.
- Artist of the month is sponsored by the Gathering room! Submit a piece of work around the theme of gratitude, and you can win a gift card to seven 11! Entries due by Oct 29th.
- Sn’klip sisters meet Thursday beginning of C block
- All grade 10 and 12 students are scheduled to write the provincial literacy assessments next week. Please check the lists posted on the showcase by the front entrance for the date and time of your assessment. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Koffler in the office!
- An update on locks on bathroom stalls. The locks for our stalls that are broken are on order and hopefully they arrive soon! Once all locks have been repaired, we count on you, our students, to let us know if a lock is broken or if something else isn’t as it should be in the bathrooms. We appreciate you taking an interest in keeping our school beautiful and clean!
- GRAD Hoodies are in! You heard that right GRAD Hoodies are in! Come to room 105 to claim them, that is Mrs. Seminoff’s room.
- Need some help applying to post-secondary institutions? There will be a help session in Room 109B at lunch on Thursday.
