  1. Today in the Caf it is Schwarma Wraps, Greek Salad and French Onion Soup and there will be no service tomorrow or Thursday as they are both half days. There is a suggestion box in the cafeteria! Please fill out a comment card for a chance to win a free lunch! 

 

  1. Okanagan College Penticton Campus is hosting an Open House today from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This is an opportunity for prospective students to speak with Professors, Education Advising, and Financial Aid and Awards.. Attendees can apply to any open OC program (Fall 2024 and Winter 2025) for FREE! Attendees can also enter into the draw to WIN a $500 tuition fee voucher. 

 

  1. There will be a brief meeting in Mrs. Burns’ office today at the beginning of lunch for any grade 10, 11 or 12 students who are interested in working with Ms. Kingsfield to organize and volunteer their time to host a Christmas craft making event for kids and their families at the public library. Please see Ms. Kingsfield for more information if you’re not able to make it to the meeting. This is a great way to get volunteer hours for grad  

 

  1. The Student Voice Club meets today at lunch in room 207. The club is collecting ORDERS for the school MERCH – orders are due this week! So get your orders for HORNET hoodies and jackets IN NOW!!! Forms are available in the office, or you can order MERCH on-line through the school website. GO HORNETS!!! 

 

  1. There is no skateboard club this week. Next session is Tuesday next week. 

 

  1. If you have any song suggestions for the announcements, please send Mrs. Wolfe a message on teams or come see her in the library. 

  

  1. D&D club today at 3pm in room 108. Mr. Johnson’s and Ryders groups. New players always welcome! 

 

  1. Dodge duck dive dodge come on SOSS let's have a dodge ball league and tournament. Winners will play an all-star teacher team. Sign up by Wednesday if we don’t get enough teams, it will be cancelled.  

 

  1. Yesterday, the Jr field hockey team played a great game against Summerland. They won 3-0 with goals scored by Ishmeet Dhaliwal, Zoey Jones and Audrey Noftle. Maia Belingan was a strong play maker in the game and Sarah Saysomsack made some great saves in goal! Great job jrs. Their next game is Thursday at 2:30 vs Pen High. We hope to see you out supporting on the Hornets. 

 

  1. Hey all you Halloween People!  Are you interested in participating in a REAL Haunted House.  The 100 year old hotel in OK Falls is looking for student volunteers to act as scary zombies and swamp people for their Haunted House.  Volunteers are needed from 4-9pm from Wednesday October 25 – Tuesday October 31.  Dinner will be provided.  You can sign up for a multitude of days or just one day.  See Mrs. Pod or Zephyr Pickell for more details.   

 

  1. Auditions for Beauty and the Beast are Monday, October 23 from 3 – 5 pm.  Check the bulletin board outside the drama room for more details.   

 

  1. Sr. Girls vball practice today 4-6:00 PM in the small gym. Please pay your fees or Ms. Wilkie will be angry with Mr. Burns … more than she already is!!! 

 

  1. Lockdown drill #1 will take place Thursday during C Block. Procedures will be emailed to teachers and please review at the start of class.
