- Today in the Caf it is Chili, Garlic Bread and Minestrone soup and Monday will be Palak Paneer, Rice and Dahl. There is a suggestion box at the cafeteria! Please fill out a comment card for a chance to win a free lunch!
- Okanagan College Penticton Campus is hosting an Open House on October 17 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This is an opportunity for prospective students to speak with Professors, Education Advising, and Financial Aid and Awards.. Attendees can apply to any open OC program (Fall 2024 and Winter 2025) for FREE! Attendees can also enter into the draw to WIN a $500 tuition fee voucher.
- The junior girls had their first home league games last night against two strong teams, Summerland Secondary School and Pen Hi 10. The girls started off slow but managed to take Summerland Secondary in two straight sets. The game against Pen Hi 10 was more challenging and the girls lost the first set but with some determination and great teamwork they managed to pull through the next two sets to win the game! Congratulations girls on your wins last night. Wish them luck as they travel to Osoyoos for a tournament this weekend. Go Hornets!
- Dodge, Duck, Dive, Dodge. You heard me right we will be having a dodgeball league then tournament. Sign up will be by the gym office. You need 8 players per team. We will have a competitive league and a rec league if teams permit. See Mr. Basso if you have any questions.
- If you are in Grade 8 or 9, today is the deadline for signing up for the outdoor club event on Monday - fishing at Twin Lakes! There are a few spots left. See Mr. Willms for permission forms.
- If you have any song suggestions for the announcements, please send Mrs. Wolfe a message on teams or come see her in the library.
- Open parachute is starting up again, so if you would like to join a group or want more information, please see Mrs. Von Burg in the counselling room.
- Grade 8 Volleyball tournament this weekend! The Hornet’s Nest will be a-buzz with teams starting at 3:30 today and continuing Saturday as well. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams play at 3:30 this afternoon - come out and support your HORNETS!
- The field hockey hornets are hosting JL Crowe and Mt Boucherie tomorrow at the top field. The juniors play at 10 and 3, and the seniors play at 11:15 and 1:45.
- The senior field hockey team has a meeting at lunch today in Mrs. Lang’s room.
- For any Grads wanting help with post-secondary applications Mrs. Burns will be in Room 109 at lunch to answer questions.
