  1. OES Track Meet – Mr. Mcallister at OES is looking for 15-20 volunteers to assist with the OES Track Meet on Wednesday, May 17th. The event runs all day. If you have permission to be absent from your classes that day and are interested in helping out, please see Mr. Podmorow 

 

  1. If there are any students interested in performing at the Semester End Show on June 21st please see Ms. Kingsfield or Mr. McKinnon to sign up. They’re looking for musical performances, as well as magic shows, skits, monologues, short story or poetry readings 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Breakfast for lunch: Scrambled Eggs, Hashbrowns and Sausage and Monday is the start of Multicultural week, and we will be serving Palabok which is a Filipino Pork and Noodle dish and Thai Coconut Soup. 

 

  1. Francis Family Scholarship portfolios are due today! Please hand them in to Mrs. Koffler in the office by 3PM. 

 

  1. 3 on 3 basketball today at lunch. 

 

  1.  Multicultural Week is next week. Each day, the cafeteria will be making different dishes to celebrate cultures. Also, the Student Voice club will be giving out prizes every morning during announcements about the culture of the day. As well, the club has planned a Holi event on Friday May 26thHoli is a traditional South Asian festival celebrated by throwing colored powder at each other. If you are interested in participating in HOLI, you can sign up for free at lunch in front of the Zen den and buy powder packets: 2 dollars for 2 packets. There is only space for 120 people at this event! Please refer to the posters posted around the school for more information. Sign-up and join in the fun!    

 

  1. The Sr. Soccer team had the most exciting game of their season yesterday versus Summerland! The team won 3-0 in a dominate game that earned them a spot at Valleys this coming Tuesday and Wednesday in Vernon. The goals were scored by Kismet Dhaliwal, Charlie Ruck and Iesha DhillonThere were many hard working players who contributed to the win yesterday; an honourable mention goes to Annelise Goncalves and player of the game goes to Emma Klassen. Fantastic work Hornets and good luck at Valleys!
