  1. Volleyball in the small gym at lunch today. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Pizza Day and tomorrow is Breakfast for lunch: Scrambled Eggs, Hashbrowns and Sausage. 

 

  1. OES Track Meet – Mr. Mcallister at OES is looking for 15-20 volunteers to assist with the OES Track Meet on Wednesday, May 17th. The event runs all day. If you have permission to be absent from your classes that day and are interested in helping out, please see Mr. Podmorow 

 

  1. The Jr. Hornets Ultimate team hosted games against Summerland Jr and Sr teams last night. The Hornet’s showed a ton of improvement from their earlier tournament this year against much more experienced teams, but unfortunately lost both games. We look forward to their continued development in the coming years! Way to go Hornets!  

 

  1. If there are any students interested in performing at the Semester End Show on June 21st please see Ms. Kingsfield or Mr. McKinnon to sign up. They’re looking for musical performances, as well as magic shows, skits, monologues, short story or poetry readings 

 

  1. Please do not push, shake or try to move the vending machine. If you have made a purchase and it doesn’t come out, please let the office know. By trying to “fix it” yourself, you are actually doing more harm. It is there for your use. Please don’t abuse it. 

  

  1. Hey Hornets Spirt day is coming up on June 8th, this year's game is capture the flag  Make your teams of 12 the gender ratio being 5-7, once you have made your roster submit it to Mrs. Podmorow. 

 

  1. Today is the Moosehide Campaign. Pins made of moosehide are worn to show a stand against violence against women and children.   

 

  1. Multicultural Week is next week. Each day, the cafeteria will be making different dishes to celebrate cultures. Also, the Student Voice club will be giving out prizes every morning during announcements about the culture of the day. As well, the club has planned a Holi event on Friday May 26th.  Holi is a traditional South Asian festival celebrated by throwing colored powder at each other. If you are interested in participating in HOLI, you can sign up for free at lunch in front of the Zen den and buy powder packets: 2 dollars for 2 packets. There is only space for 120 people at this event! Please refer to the posters posted around the school for more information. Sign-up and join in the fun!
