  1. Badminton Tournament is on Tuesday May 16th right after school in the big gymIf you signed up and can’t make it on the 16th  please let Mr. Khodarahmi or Mrs. McIntyre know. Anyone else interested in playing in a one day badminton tournament please let us know. See everyone next Tuesday! 

 

  1. The Jr Hornets Ultimate Team host games today vs. The Summerland Jr and Sr teams. The action kicks off at 4:00pm. Come out and support your team! Go Hornets! 

 

  1. Chess and Board games club at lunch today in room 109b beside the counselling office.  

 

  1. Debate club is meeting in Ms. Shione’s room at lunch today! Everyone is welcome to join!  

 

  1. Hey SOSS Students, listen up, this one is for you!! Do you know someone who walks-the-walk, and talks-the-talk to inspire you or someone you know here at school? It is award season here at SOSS and we are looking to recognize those students who make our school a great place for staff and students alike. The 2022-23 Citizenship Award is open for nominations – nomination forms including the finer details and the full criteria can be found in the office with Ms. Koffler. The deadline for nomination is Friday May 19th. This is an award that has a long tradition and is held in high regard at SOSS, we ask that all nominators keep that in mind when they put names forward. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Greek Chicken Bowls and tomorrow is Pizza Day. 

 

  1. OES Track Meet – Mr. Mcallister at OES is looking for 15-20 volunteers to assist with the OES Track Meet on Wednesday, May 17th. The event runs all day. If you have permission to be absent from your classes that day and are interested in helping out, please see Mr. Podmorow 

 

  1. Hornet Homies – we will meet today at 11:15 in Ms. Seymour’s science classroom, 117. We have visits to the elementary schools coming up and other topics to discuss such as the calendar.  

 

  1. If there are any students interested in performing at the Semester End Show on June 21st please see Ms. Kingsfield or Mr. McKinnon to sign up. They’re looking for musical performances, as well as magic shows, skits, monologues, short story or poetry readings 

 

  1. The senior soccer team played an exciting game versus Maggie yesterday and won 1-0! Sabreen Deol scored our goal and Phi Thai made the assist. Emma Millward played a fantastic game defensively stopping any players that came her way! The team has a shot at making it to Valleys next week and has an important away game versus Summerland tomorrow. Good luck, Hornets! 

 

  1. Please do not push, shake or try to move the vending machine. If you have made a purchase and it doesn’t come out, please let the office know. By trying to “fix it” yourself, you are actually doing more harm. It is there for your use. Please don’t abuse it.
