SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL  

                     Tuesday, November 1, 2022.  
 

  1. The Student Voice Club meets at lunch today in room 207. All SOSS students are welcome to join the club anytime.  

 

  1. The band room will be open at lunch today for anyone who would like to play an instrument. 

 

  1.  Grads, do you know how to apply for university or college? There will be tutorials on Wednesday November 9 and Tuesday November 15th to show you the tools needed to apply. Sign-up sheets are on the counselling window by the breakfast cart.  

 

  1. The grade 8 girls volleyball team travels to Osoyoos tonight for games against Osoyoos Secondary and Princeton Secondary. Girls, make sure you are ready to go for 3:00 in the back parking lot. Good luck Hornet’s!  

 

  1. The Gr 10 and 12’s will be writing the Literacy Assessments this week. The Gr. 10’s are writing today and the 12’s tomorrow. A schedule is posted on Mrs. Schori’s window, please check when and where you write. 
     
  1. We will have a “Beyond the Blues” event at lunchtime on Wednesday November 9th in the atrium! There will be games, trivia, prizes, and information on depression, anxiety and risky drinking! There will be opportunities for self-screeners and resources available in our community.  

 

  1. Sign up for drum group in the gathering room, first practice for Remembrance Day assembly will be this Friday 

 

  1. Today at 8:30 am, there will be a representative from Selkirk College hosting a presentation on Rural Pre-Med.  Interested grade 12 students should attend.  If any Grade 12 students would like to attend come to the library now. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Perogies and Fries and tomorrow is Chicken Pot Pies with Mashed Potatoes. 

 

  1. If you lost your cell phone, please see Mrs. Koffler in the office. 

 

  1. There was an airpod left in the library yesterday.  Please see Mrs. Wolfe to claim. 
     
  1. Today at lunch is the Indigenous Grad meeting in the gathering space. We will be going over applying to post-secondary, ordering transcripts, and applying for funding for programs.   All Indigenous grads please join us at lunch in the Gathering room today. 

 

  1. D&D Club after school. Meet upstairs on the balcony. If you are interested and want to learn, come on out! 

 

  1. Sr Girls vball will practice today at lunch in the big gym.
