SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL  

                  Monday October 17, 2022.  

1. Art Club at 2:45 in the Art Room. 

1. The Grade 8 volleyball teams hosted the Hornet’s Nest Invitational over the weekend. The girls played inspiring volleyball to make it all the way into the final against a strong Vernon Secondary School team. The two teams battled back and forth splitting the first two sets. The girls fell behind 8-2 in the final set, however battled back to even the score at 10-10. Unfortunately, the girls fell just short, losing a heartbreaking set 13-15. A huge thank you to all the fans, scorekeepers and referees that helped make our home tournament a huge success, the hornet’s nest was rocking this weekend! Grade 8 girls volleyball practice @ 3:00 – 4:30 pm. 

1. Today in the Caf it is Donairs with Greek Salad and Butternut Squash Soup and tomorrow is Chicken Fingers and Fries. 
    

1. Homework Club is starting today, all year long at the Gathering Room with the new Advocate Mr. Azak. 

1. Sr. Girls vball played at the Best of the West this past weekend. Congrats on a strong showing! Practice today 4:30-6 PM in the big gym. 

1. Let’s get looking forward to next week hornets! It’s Spirit Halloweek, and we have some exciting outfits for you to plan out.

1. October 31st will be Halloween Dress-up Day with a Halloween Costume Contest. Prizes will be awarded for best single costume, best duo costume and best group costume. Be sure to check out the posters around the school for inspiration. Let’s show off our fashionable spirit hornets!
