SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                  Wednesday October 12, 2022. 
 

  1. All semester 2 art students from last year please come to the art room sometime this week to collect your artwork from the display cases. Any artwork remaining after Friday that hasn't been collected or spoken for will be recycled.  

 

  1.  Attention grads – Do you know how to apply for college or university? The tutorial for Wednesday October 12 has been moved to Thursday October 13 after school from 3-3:30 in the library. Sign-up sheets are posted on the “grad update” window in the counselling office. If you have your own tablet or laptop, please bring it with you. 

 

  1. The grade 8 girls volleyball team hosted games against Osoyoos Secondary and Skaha Lake Middle School last night. In their game vs. OSS, the girls played a dominant first set, overcoming their opponents 25-13. The second set was tighter, but the girls completed a huge comeback, winning the set 25-22. In their second match, the girls continued their incredible play, winning both sets (25 – 8) and (25-18). Congratulations on your win's hornets!  

 

  1. The Senior Field hockey team had a great home game versus Summerland yesterday, defeating the visiting team 3-0. Anabel Lefebrve snd Kate Noftle scored field goals and Phi Thai put the Hornets up by three on an exciting penalty stoke!  

 

  1. The Junior field hockey team played a great game against Magge in Penticton yesterday. Down quickly by a goal, the team rallied and got on the board with goals by Audrey Noftle, Vienna von Burg and Hugo Pickell for a 3-2 finish for SOSS. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Meatball Subs and Fruit Salad and tomorrow is Pizza Day. 

 

  1. There will be an Indigenous Leadership meeting today at lunch time in the Gathering room.  

 

  1. Travellers to QUEBEC: If you are interested in travelling to Quebec next fall, and you are in grade 9, 10 or 11, please attend a short meeting at lunch today in room 207 with Madame Scott.  Merci. 

 

  1. Any grads who are interested in helping organize some fun grad activities, there will be a meeting tomorrow at lunch.  Room to be determined. 

 

  1. Any students looking for some work?  I have a person interested in hiring a few students for 1 or 2 days for manual labour.  See Mr. Kitt if you are interested. 

 

  1. Sr. Girls volleyball travel to Maggie today for league matches today vs Summerland and Maggie. Bus leaves at 4:30 and meet outside the phys ed office. 

 

  1. Musical Theatre today at lunch in the Drama Room.
