SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                    Monday September 26, 2022. 
 

  1. Attention all Students with Indigenous Ancestry: If you are interested in signing up for Grizzly Crew group or Snklip Crew group formally known as Boys and Girls group, please come to the gathering room and grab a form and sign up. You must have a form filled out by a parent or guardian if you want to participate. You have until September 29th to sign up. All forms must be handed in no later than Monday October 3rd

 

  1. The senior field hockey team faced strong competition at the fall festival this weekend and rose to the challenge in a big way with a win, a loss and a two ties. Kaylee Klassen was a solid wall in net, allowing only one goal in 4 games. Kate Noftle’s goal capped off a great final game against OKM. Great job team! 

 

  1. The junior field hockey team had a strong start to their season this weekend winning three games and losing their fourth by only one goalTop goal scorers were Ishmeet Dhaliwal and Hugo Pickell. Nicole LeBoutillier made an impressive debut in net. Well done to you all!  

 

  1. Both junior and senior field hockey teams practice after school today. The junior team plays at home tomorrow against Summerland. You can cheer them on at 4pm on the top field.  

 

  1. No lunch service today and tomorrow is Bannock tacos. 

 

  1. Art Club at 2:45 in the Art Room. 

 

  1. Grade 8 girls volleyball practice @ 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Remember to bring in your player fees! Sr. Girls practice 4-6 PM and meet in the fitness center. 

 

  1. A big thanks to everyone that helped out with the SOSS Sr. Girls and Boys tournament this past weekend. LV Rogers from Nelson won the girls side and Sal-Hali from Kamloops won the boys side. 

 

  1. Snack Shack will be open between first and second block, 9:48 to 9:53. 

 

  1. No D&D club this week. We will aim for Tuesday, October 4 after school. See Mr. Johnson if you are interested in joining or would like more information. All are welcome! 

 

  1. The Jr. Girls Volleyball Green Team had a fantastic weekend at Mount Sentinel. They played a lot of ball against some tough teams. In the end the team played very well, learnt a lot and won 4 games of 7. They lost in the semi finals to Stanley Humphries and went on to beat Grand Forks in three sets to place third in the tournament. What a great start to the season girls! The team is off to Kelowna this weekend for the Best of the West tournament. Good luck hornets! 

 

  1. Jr. Boys VB practice cancelled after school today. Meet in the small gym at lunch today. 

 

CLC Assignment #1 is due Wednesday. Please submit it to Mrs. Burns on Teams if you haven’t  

done so already.
