SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                    Thursday June 23, 2022. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Pizza Day. 

 

  1. Attention all Students...now is the time to return all your books and materials to the Library.   You will not get any materials next school year if you have anything outstanding come September.  Also please be cleaning out your lockers ASAP and checking the lost and found for any of your misplaced items. 

 

  1. Congratulations to Maya Baerg as she has won the National Legion Remembrance Day contest...her poem was first place in all of Canada! Wow, way to go Maya! 

 

  1. There will be a meeting of the HORNET HOMIES (the buddy group) today at lunch in room 117 (in the science area). Bring your lunch and a pen or pencil! 

 

  1. Ms. Martins Foods 8 Pizza Challenge happened yesterday, and the results were as follows:  There was a tie for first place between Kitchen 4, with their “Baconator Pizzanator” created by Rocky Toon, Seth    Allenbrand, Sarah Saysomsack and Ryley Weinberger and Kitchen 6 with their Taco Pizza, created by Mikey Skolos, Tyson Martin, AJ Gludovatz-Bydal, Mason Marcinko and Chayton Frederick-Vala.  2nd Place went to Kitchen 5 with their Buffalo Chicken Pizza made by Mannat Panaich, Esha Tung, Harveer Sran and Rajan Buttar.  Most Creative Pizza went to Kitchen 2 with their sweet Smores dessert Pizza.  Thanks to all of you for an awesome term and job well done on the final challenge. It was delicious! 

 

  1. Indigenous grade 11 and 12s please visit gathering room during lunch hour for a quick presentation.  

 

  1. Yearbooks are still on the way. There have been some serious supply chain issues. They are set to arrive next week. We will send a mass email to all students and families when they arrive so you can come and pick them up.

 

  1. Lockers must be cleaned out today

 

  1. Exam in process...quiet in halls today and in the coming days. Respect your peers and give them the best? opportunity for success.

 

  1. Happy last day of classes! Good luck to all the students heading into their assessments. Special recognition to our Gr 12’s as this is their official last day of their K-12 career. You’re almost there and we are so very proud of your accomplishments!
