SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                    Tuesday June 21, 2022. 

 

  1. Today is National Indigenous Day. This is a day to celebrate and honour the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island.  A way you can do this is to support local Indigenous businesses and restaurants. You can follow Indigenous creators on Instagram and Tik Tok, and support Indigenous movements throughout Canada. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is concession style: Cheeseburgers/Veggie Burgers for $3, Ice Cream Treats (Ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, fudgsicles, etc.) For $1 and Freezies for $.50. Tomorrow will be grilled cheese 

 

  1. Any art students from semester 1 or 2 whose artwork is out of the display cases have until Wednesday June 22nd to come to the art room to pick up their stuff. 

 

  1. There will be a meeting today at lunch in Ms. Scott’s room for grade 9 or 10 students interested in going on a trip to Montreal and Quebec in 2023.  
     
  1. The final Chopped Challenges of the year are happening this week in Ms. Frank Food’s 9/10 classes. We are excited to announce the winners of the Block D class challenge that took place yesterday: in 1st place we have Saxon Garrity-Connor, Rhys Prudence and Nich Stone, 2nd place was Leland Verreault and in 3rd was Peter Ruckheim. Congratulations and thank you to our judges Anika, Aikum and Juliana!
