  1. Today is homework club in the gathering room from 2:45 to 3:45. 

 

  1. The Elbow Bump Campaign is here for all students and staff to elbow bump anyone in our SOSS community. If you would like to celebrate, thank, or appreciate someone for their kindness, accomplishments, support, personal triumphs, etc. then please see Ms. Smith or Mr. Burns to make a plan to Elbow Bump your deserving recipient. Let’s celebrate the awesome that is happening around us every day! 

 

  1. Pickleball club at the big gym starts at 11:11. 

 

  1. If you are looking for a summer job the Welcome Inn is hiring! Please see Mrs. Harington for more information. 

 

  1. Attention all grade 8 through 11s. Ms. Smith and Ms. Seymour will be hosting another gathering of all those interested in co-creating and facilitating the incoming Grade 8 buddy system. Task #1 – creating a cooler name! Join us Today in room 117 (in the Science area) to resolve this and other pressing issues to help our incoming Grade 8s feel welcome at SOSS. All are invited to join! 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Duck Ramen and Pulled Pork with Coleslaw. 

 

  1. There is a brief meeting on Today at lunch in Mrs. Stopa’s room for students interested in going on the Europe Trip or French trip in 2024.  

 

  1. Musical Theatre class is postponed until next week. I will post the date.  

 

  1. Students interested in debating, please come to Ms. Shione’s room (room 205) after school today to talk about organizing a formal debate club at our school.  

 

  1. Do you know someone who inspires and supports their peers through their actions and words? As some of you know, it is award season around SOSS and we are looking to recognize those students who make this place a great place for staff and students alike. The 2021-22 Citizenship Award is open for nominations – nomination forms, including the finer details and the full criteria can be found in the office with Ms. Koffler. The deadline for nomination is Friday May 20th. This is an award that has a long tradition and is held in high regard at SOSS, we ask that all nominators keep that in mind when they put names forward. 

 

  1. Grads of 2022, now on the Teams chat are two links, one for the most likely to’s/superlatives, and another one for grad write-ups/quotes, both are for the yearbook. They're both due on May 13th. Direct all questions to Katie Cleave. 

 

  1. Anyone still interested in being in the badminton tournament on Monday, May 30th can still sign up with Mr. Khodarahmi or Mrs. McIntyre. Mr. Baptiste and Sahil have their championship title on the line. All are welcome to enter the tournament. 

 

  1. Attention all students with indigenous ancestry please come to the Gathering room during lunch hour for a short survey, lunch will be provided for participation. 

 

  1. Attention Indigenous boys, Grizzy crew will be meeting today at 1:15. It will be the last meeting of the year. 

 

  1. A reminder that the Kiwanis bursary interviews for students who were already contacted are taking place this morning in the office, see Mrs. Koffler if you need to verify your interview time.

  1. A reminder to grade 10 students going to Experience OC tomorrow; Go to your first class for attendance, then proceed to the front of the school to load up the busses for the great adventure.
