- The SOSS Enchanted Forest Dance is on Thursday, May 5th. Tickets are $7 and are being sold at lunch in front of the Zen Den. A Reminder that you must attend all of your classes that day in order to be allowed to attend.
- Skateboard Club is re-scheduled this week to Wednesday. We will meet in the back parking lot at 3PM for our trip to Penticton.
- Ultimate team has practice today after school 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Reminder to players who have not paid for their shorts to see Ms. Matthews for payment.
- Art Club after school today in the art room.
- There will be homework club in the gathering room from 2:45 to 3:45 pm
- Late bus runs today, pick up is at 4:45 and goes to OK Falls.
- Indigenous Leadership meeting in gathering room at 10:40
- Pickleball club at the big gym. See you at 11:11
- Golf team... we leave for Princeton tomorrow at 10:30 am from the front of the school.
- Stick Games Practice in the Gathering room at lunch today, open to all! Our tournament is May 5th in Keremeos! If you want to go to the tournament hand your form in or come in and get a form.
- It’s YOUTH WEEK, and every day at lunch, there will be guest presenters in the Atrium from different community groups to share about their programs. Today in the Atrium, you can chat with Melisa from: FOUNDRY PENTICTON. Tomorrow, there will be someone from Oliver Parks and Rec visiting our school. They will have information about activities, employment opportunities, resources and there will be some giveaway/swag items at lunch in the Atruim.
- It’s time for the third annualish badminton championship! Think you have what it takes to rise to the top and challenge Mr. Khodarahmi and Mrs. McIntyre? Want to follow in the footsteps of greatness and become a legend like Sahil and Mr. Baptiste last year? If you are up for this, meet in Mr. K’s room at lunch this Wednesday to sign up. The one day championship tournament is open to grades 8-12 and will be right after school on Monday May 30th.
- Is Europe on your bucket list? Ever dreamed of visiting Paris, or the beaches of Normandy? A history-based Europe trip is being planned for spring of 2024. This trip is open to students who are currently in Grade 9 and 10 – the future seniors of SOSS! If you’re interested, there will be an information meeting on Wednesday at lunch in Mrs. Stopa’s classroom. (please keep on for Tuesday and Wednesday)
- There will be a sweat for girls group on Wednesday May 4th
- Today in the Caf it is cobb salad, pizza pretzels and cookies and tomorrow will be Turkey Club Sandwiches with Roasted Beet Salad and Chicken Gnocchi Soup.
- Listen up grade 8, 9, 10 and 11 students...we are hoping to set up a grade 8 buddy system for next year. If you are interested in helping to create this program and to be a buddy to our incoming grade 8’s, please come to a meeting in Room 117 today at lunch. See Ms. Seymour or Ms. Smith with any questions. PS...there will be snacks!
- Moose Hide Campaign is on May 12th. The Indigenous Advocates will be coming around to the classes today to speak about the day and to hand out pins. The moosehide campaign is about bringing awareness to the Domestic Abuse that occurs toward Women in Canada. We encourage everyone to wear their Moosehide pins with pride on May 12, or year-round.
- Reinder to the Senkleep sisters there will be having a sweat lodge this Wednesday.
- Grad committee meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Seminoff’s room
- Congrats to Mr. Hall on completing the 1/2 Vancouver Marathon yesterday!
