SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                       Monday April 25, 2022. 

 

  1. Art Club after school today in the art room. 

 

  1. There will be homework club in the gathering room from 2:45 to 3:45 pm 

 

  1. Late bus runs today, pick up is at 4:45 and goes to OK Falls. 

 

  1. The SOSS Ultimate team travelled to Kamloops over the weekend to compete in the Southern Kamloops Invitational Tournament. Our incredibly young team competed against the toughest Sr. Teams from across the Okanagan Valley. While the results were not always desirable, the players gained valuable experience and ended up coming away with the most spirited team award as selected by our opponents. Well done, Hornets! Reminder there will be practice today from 3 - 4:30 pm.  

 

  1. Indigenous Leadership meeting is cancelled today 

 

  1. Beading is switched to Mondays at lunch in the gathering room! Today is beading, open to all! See you at 11:11 in the Gathering room for beading! 

 

  1. Pickleball club in the big gym. See you at 11:11 

 

  1. TODAY, and Monday May 2nd only: Stick Games Practice in the Gathering room at lunch, open to all!  Our tournament is May 5th   in Keremeos!  If you want to go to the tournament hand your form in or come in and get a form. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is Sushi Salad and Crispy Chicken or Veggies Burgers. 

 

  1. Red dress day is on May 5th, it is a National Day of Awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two spirit people. If you have a red dress that you can donate, please bring it to the gathering room. Everyone is encouraged to wear red on the 5th to show support.  
     
  1. Attention to all Grads. The Grad list has been updated and posted outside of the Counsellor’s room. Please check this list as some Grads have changed colours … like from Yellow to Red!!! See one of the counsellors or the office if you have any questions as Grad course deadlines are coming up soon. 

 

  1. Reminder to Indigenous students, if you brought your form in there will be bitter root picking this morning. Please meet at the gathering room at the start of the day. 

 

  1. The Gr. 10 and 12 Numeracy and Literacy assessment week begin today. The Numeracy 10 assessments runs today starting at 12:05 PM. Mr. Wurflinger’s Sc 10 class will write in Rm. 124 in the Tech lab and Mr. Schulting’s Math 10 in Rm. 906 downstairs. Please check the list outside of the FishBowl across from the office for when you write this week.
