SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

           Tuesday January 25, 2022. 

 

  1. Skiers and Snowboarders! Please go to the PE office or Mr. Wurflinger’s room for your forms. This trip is open to the entire school. Absolute latest day to have forms in is Feb 3rd by lunchtime. Pick a mountain, APEX or Baldy and strap on the sticks cuz’ its ski time! Any questions, please see Mr. Russo 

  

  1. It is time to select courses for next year! Check the website for information the courses offered and the steps to complete. If you have questions, or want some help, please see Mrs. G in the library. All requests must be handed in and entered into MyBlueprint and the Family Portal by February 11th.  

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is the last service day of the semester with Salmon Burgers (made from scratch by Shan)Spicy Chicken or Veggie Burgers and Corn Bacon Chowder and Cake pops. 

 

  1. If you need any course changes for semester 2, please go to the SOSS website and complete the request online. The link is on the first page of our site. Counsellors will contact you directly or on TEAMS if we have any questions.   
  1. The Band Room will be open today at lunch for students. 
  1. The Student Voice Club will not meet at lunch today. The club will meet next Tuesday at lunch. New members are always welcome.  

 

  1. Today is homework club in the gathering room from 2:45 to 4:00. 

 

  1. Yes there is rehearsal today – speaking actors only 

 

  1. Pink Shirt Day is coming up next month. T-shirts are available to order online, the link is on the school website. Please put the word “Student” for your Division. 

 

  1. Calling all Grads of 2022! The time has come to sign up for your Personal Pitches. The sign-up sheets are in the office. Please DO NOT sign up during class time. You can sign up for the morning, lunch or after school and you can sign up during the day if you have a study block. All grads should be signed up by the end of next week and all Personal Pitches must be presented by March 3rd. Due to Covid restrictions you no longer need to bring in your important person for your pitch, but they are welcome to join your presentation electronically. See Mr. Burns, Ms. Smith or Mr. Willms with any questions 

 

  1. Any students interested in a career with the RCMP?  The RCMP Youth Academy is a week-long program that gives students an experience into various aspects of the RCMP.  See Mr. Kitt for details and an application.
