  1. Winter Active Living Day – Attention students and staff!! Winter Active Living Day is coming up on February 14th. There are a variety of activities planned for those who want to be involved in a day of fun away from the classroom. In addition, to taking part in the ski and snowboarding trips planned for Mt Baldy and Apex, students can also choose to sign up for: 

The Apex Winter Extravaganza (Tube park, Outdoor Skate loop, Nickel Plate Snowshoeing) 

EPIC Winter Adventure 

Roll N Stones Fun Centre (Bowling and Mini-golf) 

Kobau Lanes (Bowling) 

Skating at the Oliver Arena.

  1. Skiers and Snowboarders! Please go to the PE office or Mr. Wurflinger’s room for your forms. This trip is open to the entire school. Absolute latest day to have forms in is Feb 3rd by lunchtime. Pick a mountain, APEX or Baldy and strap on the sticks cuz’ its ski time! Any questions, please see Mr. Russo 

  

  1. It is time to select courses for next year! Check the website for information the courses offered and the steps to complete. If you have questions, or want some help, please see Mrs. G in the library. All requests must be handed in and entered into MyBlueprint and the Family Portal by February 11th.  

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is cold service and Tuesday is the last service day of the semester with Salmon Burgers, Spicy Chicken or Veggie Burgers and Corn Bacon Chowder and Cake pops. 

 

  1. Gr. 8 boys bball practice today 3-4:30 in the small gym. 

 

  1. If you need any course changes for semester 2, please go to the SOSS website and complete the request online. The link is on the first page of our site. Counsellors will contact you directly or on TEAMS if we have any questions. 

 

  1. The winners of Friday’s Grade 8 Pizza Challenge are: Kitchen #1 with their triple cheese, chicken bacon ranch pizza made by Logan Martin, Phoenix Parisien and Kira Usher. 2nd place goes to the chicken pesto with extra basil pizza made by Kitchen 3 and in 3rd place was Kitchen 6 with their spicy jalapeno popper pizza! Well done everyone and a BIG thank you to our amazing judges Dylan Faulkner, Kelsey Szoke and Takdir Dhaliwal. 

 

  1. The winners of Ms. Martins Food Studies 9/10 January Birthday Cake Challenge, were Kichen#1 with their Chocolate Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream, made by Maddison Pearce, Emma Fraser, and Brooke Fead. In second place there was a first time ever tie, with Kitchen #3s Red Velvet Cake, made by Lena Berukoff, Amelie Ogden and Savanna Van Drimmelen. Kitchen#4s Chocolate Raspberry with Raspberry Buttercream, made by Jayleigh Cobb, Owen Ogden, and Hannah RobbinsKitchen #4 with his Lemon Poppyseed Loaf with Lemon Glaze, made by Pedro Murillo. Third Place goes to Kitchen #2s Tuxedo Cake, made by Ryland Lebedoff, Ryder Martin, and Landon Somerville. You all surprised me with some challenging cake recipes! Bravo to all of YOU and thank you they all tasted super delicious! Yes, they were all made from Scratch! A special Thank you to our guest judge, Indigenous Advocate Tara Havig, for all your help!
