SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

Thursday October 28, 2021. 

 

1. Grade 10, 11 and 12 students...It is VERY important that you check the Literacy 10 and Literacy 12 Assessment lists posted outside of the fishbowl and in the library for your name. Make sure you know when and where you write. There are some grade 11 students that need to complete the grade 10 assessment and some grade 12 students that will be writing both the grade 10 and the grade 12 Literacy Assessments. Please check the lists closely and see Ms. Smith or Mr. Burns with any questions or concerns.  

 

1. All Grade 9 and 10 girls interested in playing basketball meet in room 104 today at lunch.  We need all interested participants in attendance. 
    

1. Anyone interested in working on the yearbook this year need to meet in room 104 today at lunch for an important meeting. 

 

1. Art Club is hosting a visiting artist next Monday November 8th. Adrienne Herbert will be here showing us how to do a paint pour. Space is limited to 15 participants, if you are interested, please see Ms. Kingsfield in the art room to sign up. 

 

1. The Band Room will be open today at lunch for students. 

 

1. Today in the Caf it is Pizza day for $3.00 a slice and tomorrow will be Pulled Pork and Mushroom Soup and we will be selling specially decorated Halloween cookies for $1. 

 

1. It’s Halloweek!!  Today is Throwback Thursday and Halloween Costumes tomorrow.  Let’s see your Halloween spirit. 

 

1. The SOSS Health and Safety team will be conducting their semi-annual site inspection today during the first block and will be going in and out of classrooms. Thanks in advance! 

 

1. Grade 9 students, please return your completed immunization forms to the office by today. 

 

1. Senior and Junior field hockey team members are reminded to have their permission forms ready for tomorrow’s trip to Kelowna. 

 

1. South Okanagan General Hospital is looking for Youth Healthcare Volunteers. If you are interested in applying, please see Mrs. Koffler in the office for an application form. Completed applications are due by November 10th.
