SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

  1. Any girls in grades 8-12 interested in playing Soccer this year, please sign up on the sheets posted on the back of Mr. Russo’s science class. Practice for all grades start on Monday after school. Make sure to sign up ASAP. 

 

  1. The Sign up sheet for the Ultimate Frisbee team is posted outside the PE Office. The team is open to students of all grades. Practices will begin Tuesday @ 3:00. Come out and bring a friend! 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it will be Chow Mein and Ginger Fried Beef and Wonton Soup. 

 

  1. Reminder to grads to pick up Scholarship and Bursary applications in the office. We have added Oliver Kiwanis applications which are due back April 23rd. 

 

  1. Hey SOSS, Link Crew is planning a Springtime spirit week for next week.  There will be a winner for each day: Monday is Floral Day, Tuesday is Neon Day, Wednesday is Tacky Tourist day, Thursday is Jersey Day and Friday is Spring Formal Day. 

 

  1. Calling all Grads...there will be a grad parent meeting on Wednesday, April 14 at 7pm. This meeting will be on Teams and you will need to help your adults to get logged into Teams. This meeting shows up in the chat and on your calendar on Teams. Please let your adults know and we’ll see you at the meeting on Wednesday. Grads, you do not need to attend the meeting, but you need to help your adults to join the meeting through your Teams. 

 

  1. Grade 10 students...Literacy and Numeracy Assessments will be happening next week. Please take a look at the schedule posted on the fishbowl for the time, date and location of each of your assessments. Please note that you are allowed an extra hour to complete these 2 hour assessments. If you take the third hour in the afternoon session, you may miss your bus. Any grade 11 students that have not written either assessment, please find your name on the list so you can attend on your scheduled day. Please remember that these assessments are graduation requirements, so it’s important that you are there.
