SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

1. Grade 8 Girls basketball at 3, Grade 9 basketball at 4:30. 

1. Ski Trip. There is a mandatory ski meeting today at lunch in the library that all skiers/snowboarders must attend. Make sure you are there. Any questions, please see Mr. Russo 

1. Hey SOSS!  The Deadline for the Music video contest has been extended to March 5th.  You have more time to produce, star in, and submit your own upbeat music video.  Be brave and creative and grab a group of friends, choose a happy, school-appropriate song, and get the video done!  Have fun!  Details are posted on the poster outside of the Zen Den. 

1. Grads of 2021...The Francis Family Scholarship information sheet is now available in the office. You must prepare a portfolio and it will take some time. Your portfolio is due Friday, May 14. Please pick up an information sheet from Mrs. Koffler in the office. 

1. Keep listening Grads....Every year the SOSS Enrichment Fund awards thousands and thousands of dollars to many of our graduates. In order to be considered for any of these scholarships and bursaries you MUST complete an application form. This form is due by the end of the school day on Monday,  March 1st. There are some documents that you will need to go with your application including a letter of reference. Please ask for these letters asap in order to give people the time needed to write you a meaningful letter. Ps...March 1st is NEXT MONDAY so GET GOING! 

1. One more announcement for grads....The grad breakfast is happening this Friday. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 and all grads are invited to be here for that. We still need more of you to sign up for cooking, serving and clean up. Sign up sheets are on the fishbowl. 
    

1. Due to the new rules The Gathering Room will be open for the first 10 minutes of Lunch and closed for the rest of the Lunch break until the last 5 minutes of lunch.  Please grab a snack and say hi at the beginning or end of lunch only. We cannot have students coming and going from the room at all. Thank you. 
    

1. Homework Club is in the Gathering Room from 2:45pm-4:00pm, all are welcome! 

1. Anti-bullying day is tomorrow Wednesday February 24.  So please wear a pink shirt.  for Anti-bullying week we will be saying some facts about bullying and how it affects people.
