       Grade 9 Basketball is cancelled today. 

 

  1. The Feb 17th Ski Trip is now full and we are now accepting forms for the Feb 24th trip. If you would like to go on the second ski trip come get a form from the office. Please remember that you do not have a spot until you have paid, AND your form is completed correctly. Any questions please see Mr. Russo 

 

  1.  Hey SOSS!  Are you ready for a new and exciting contest?  We are going to have our first ever music video contest!  You must produce, star in, and submit your own upbeat music video.  So grab a group of friends, choose a happy, school-appropriate song, and get creative!  Your video must be submitted by February 26, 2021.  Have fun!  Look for details on the poster that will be posted outside of the Zen Den.   

 

  1. Grad breakfast has been re-scheduled for February 26th to celebrate the completion of Personal Pitches. Please sign up on the fishbowl to help cook and clean. See you at breakfast! See Ms. Smith or Mr. Kitt with any questions. (all week please)

  1. The We Can Talk Club is joining forces with the Student Voice club and will be meeting in Ms. Scott’s room at 11:20 on Mondays. If you’re interested in fighting for social justice with a focus on gender equality, please join us!  

 

  1. If you are interested in joining STEAM club and creating a working catapult please come and see Mr. Hofman, Mr. Baptiste or Ms. Kingsfield to sign up. Our first meeting is after school on Thursday. 

 

  1. Course Selection Forms are due to the library today.  Parent signatures are required and you are asked to enter your selections into your Student Portal on MyEd.  Thank you to everyone who has already handed in the form and entered the choices into MyEd.   
     
  1. Today is the National Moose Hide Campaign, this is a day to take action and stand up to end violence against women and Children.  We wear a moosehide pin to show our respect.  For more information please see Shan and Shynai in the gathering room. 

  

  1. Students of SOSS we need to talk about the bathrooms. Please take care to leave the bathrooms clean and tidy when you leave. Recently, many of our bathrooms have been treated poorly and left in a terrible state. Please remember to use garbage cans for garbage to take care of those spaces. It’s up to each of us to take care of our beautiful school...including the bathrooms! 

 

  1. Immediately following these announcements we are asking all students to navigate to the SOSS homepage and complete a brief survey on the daily schedule at SOSS.  The survey asks questions about the 2 block and 4 block daily schedule at SOSS.  Grade 8 students are asked to ignore the questions on the 4 block system.  And, while grade 12’s will not be here next year, we welcome your opinion as mature senior students who have insight and istoryat SOSS.  Staff also have a survey to complete and you can find the link in your in-box.
