SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

1. Just a reminder that the girl’s changeroom will be closed everyday from 11:50-12:00 and 2:50 – 3:00 for cleaning. Please be cleared out of the changeroom at that time and do not re-enter until the cones have been removed and the space has been opened up.  

 

1. There will be homework club after school in the gathering room until 4 pm. All are welcome  

 

1. We are still having our Grade wide Food drive.  So far only Grades 8, 9 and 10 have brought in food keep it up young ones!  We still have not received any food from Grades 11 and 12...C’mon old guys, show us what amazing leaders you are! Rally your grade and bring some food in for the food bank!  Bring your non-perishable food items to the Library to add to your grades food tree.  The tallest tree will win great prizes!! 

 

1. Link Crew is selling Christmas Cards all week at lunch for 2$.  The cards are specially made by our Grade 8s and all proceeds go to OSNS, an organization that helps children with special needs in the Okanagan.  Come show your holiday spirit and support this great cause. 

 

1. Are you ready?  The S.O.S.S. Merch is ON SALE for one week only!!!  You can order your Hornet Merch on-line!  Go to the school website. Or you can pick up an order form in the office. Hurry and get your S.O.S.S. hoodie, sweatpants, socks and T-Shirt! The deadline to order school clothing is next Wednesday.   

 

1. Grads, this one is for you... There will be a Grad Breakfast this coming Monday morning! We need your help to cook, serve, and clean up. Please check the Zen Den window for sign up sheets. Even if you don’t sign up, we hope to see you here for breakfast from 7:30 onward in the foods room on Monday, December 14th.  

 

1. All the art work from term 1 is now out of the display cases please come and collect from the art room before Friday if you want your projects back (please read all week). 

 

1. Grade 11 Basketball 4:30 – 6 in the Main Gym. 

 

1. Grade 9 Volleyball at 3pm 

 

1. Field Hockey at 3 today. 

 

1. The We can Talk Club is meeting in Ms. Shione’s room, room 205, at lunch. If you’re interested about fighting for social justice with a focus on gender equality, please join us! 

 

1. Tomorrow in the Caf it  will be Baked Spaghetti with Bread and Red Pepper Corn Chowder. 

 

1. Reminder to Grade 9 Students that if you have your Immunization Consent forms please bring them to the office right away. 

 

1. Today is our Grade 10 Indigenous lunch in the gathering room! If you are Indigenous and in Grade 10 please join us for Bannock tacos and prizes! 

 

1. Congratulations to Shael Narayan for being the first one to answer yesterdays question correctly.  Today this is a classroom competition challenge.  We are asking for you and your class to show your most creative Christmas Spirit in a Video.  Upload it to the Yearbook Album on the SOSS Website.  The most creative Video will win the Advent Calendar Prize.
