SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

Friday,  November 20, 2020

  1. Students, we need your help. As we all know Covid cases in the province are rising. We NEED to do our part in flattening the curve. At lunch and in the morning you must be in your cohort space. When in those spaces you don’t need to wear your masks, but you do need to work on physical distancing. We are asked to maintain our space from one another and to avoid unnecessary touching. We have had a few instances of students being in the wrong space during lunch and this is not acceptable. Please do your part in keeping each other safe as well as the people you love and yourselves.

  1. The Student Voice Club is doing survey next week about their new merch. They want to know what SOSS merch items are the most popular.  Then, if you think you might buy something, stay tuned for more information about ordering SOSS merch.      (Please repeat until the 24th. Thank you)

  1. Today I want to share with you why Transgender Day of Remembrance is important. Still to this day Transgender people are oppressed for just existing. In 2020 alone approximately 34 trans people have been killed just because of their identity.  It's important to celebrate this day and recognize individuals who are accepting themselves and embracing who they really are. It's also important to support LGBTQ+ people and raise awareness and learn about ways you can help in the future.
