  1. At the end of September, most students participated in a survey.  One of the questions asked was“What word comes to mind when you think about school?”   A poster with those words is on the glass railing across from the office.  Check the poster for your word.  The bigger the word, the more times it was mentioned.

  1. Good morning Graduates of 2021! Your CLC and Capstone assignments have been loaded onto Teams. Please check your Grad 2021 Team for information. Ms. Smith will visit classes next week to discuss this in more detail and answer questions, but it’s time to start thinking about your CLC and Capstone.

  1. Keep paying attention grads as this next announcement is also for you! It’s Meat and Flower fundraiser time. Sell meat and flowers to reduce your grad fees. Order forms are in the office and flower order can be done online through our SOSS website. The turnaround time is quick, so sell to your friends and neighbours today! Flower orders are due by Nov. 18 and meat orders by Nov. 20. Check your school email for a message from Mrs. Koffler and see Ms. Smith, Mr. Kitt or Mrs. Koffler with any questions.

  1. The Talent Show is approaching quickly.  It is time to get your act together so that you don’t miss this fun opportunity to perform in front of your own cohort.  Each grade will have their own show so you will only be performing in front of your cohort!  Not so scary!  Your act can be funny or serious.  You can lip sync, play an instrument, sing, act, dance or whatever you choose. So, if you have been waiting for an opportunity to do your best Backstreet Boys routine, now is your chance.  Maybe you have only ever tested your singing talents in the shower, now is a great chance to try it out in front of a friendly audience of your own peers.  If your grade does not get enough acts, your grade will not get a show.  Sign-up outside the Drama Room to be a part of this awesome event!  The show is November 19.

  1. A representative from Selkirk College will be here during the first half Block D on Friday with a presentation on the Rural Pre-Med program.  Interested grade 11 and 12 students are welcome to attend in room 118.  Ask for permission from your teachers before attending.

  1. Work Experience students.... Your paperwork for the first term is due Monday... get your stuff in.

  1. Listen up Hornets...it seems we are taking for granted the beautiful school we are lucky enough to learn in everyday. Please show some pride in yourself and your school and keep it clean...put garbage in the garbage, keep your spit in your mouth, and put things away. Remember Kindergarten where we learned to clean up after ourselves? That’s your job people. Thanks for doing your part to keep our school beautiful!
