SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

  1. Gr 8 and Junior Basketball players are reminded that your washed and folded uniforms should have been returned to Mr. Podmorow. If you have not returned your uniforms to Mr. Pod, please do so today. 

 

  1. There will be conditioning for Ultimate Frisbee after school today.  

 

  1. MindFit Group – we will be meeting in Mrs. Stone’s class at OES at 3:30. NOT THE REC CENTRE. Please see Ms. Ibby to verify that you have heard this announcement. 

 

  1. Students should have received verification of their course requests for next year.  If you are missing courses, you must login to the Student Portal as soon as possible to ensure that your courses will be offered.  The Library computers will be reserved for this purpose all week.  Please have your forms handed in and requests into the Portal not later than Friday, February 28. 

 

  1. Full cast Legally Blonde rehearsal today.  3-5.   

 

  1. An updated Grad List has been posted on the Quiet Room Window. Please check the list and the reasons why your name may be red, yellow or green. See Ms. Ibaraki, Ms. Smith, Mrs. Harrington, or Mr. Kitt with any questions. Please remember that if you are working on a YouLearn course that is required for graduation, your name will remain red until that course has been completed. 

 

  1. Attention anyone wanting to join the tennis team, please go talk to Mrs. McIntyre in room 118 today. 

 

  1. Today in the Caf it is broccoli cheddar soup and pulled pork and tomorrow is Pizza. 

 

  1. There will be a quick 5 minute SAGA meeting in Ms. Shione’s room at the beginning of lunch today. Everyone is welcome: we will be discussing events and field trips!  

 

  1. The Girls Can Talk Club is having a special guest speak today after school from 3-4 in Ms. Shione’s room. Constable Paula Good will be discussing how she’s coped and thrived in a male dominated working environment. She will also be addressing questions about pursuing a career as an RCMP Officer. Everyone is welcome! 

 

  1. There is a Traditional Indigenous Rattle Making workshop, it is open to all students and Free!  Please sign up in the gathering room, space is limited, so please sign up soon. Workshop will be held at lunch hour on Wednesday and Friday next week. 

 

  1. Attention all Grads: Don’t forget to sign up for your Grad Photos...they start next week! Sign-up sheets are in the office.  Also, your bursary and scholarship form is due to the office by March 2! March 2nd is a HARD DEADLINE, so get it done! Late applications will not be considered. Grads, your Capstone including your Personal Pitch is now very overdue...get your work submitted and book your Pitch with Ms. Smith asap. Finally, please be sure to follow the link on teams to complete the graduation ceremony walking across the stage survey. In review...Grad Photos next week, Scholarships and Bursaries by March 2, Capstone and Write-up overdue. Time to get Crack-a-lacking Grads!
