SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

  1. Attention students are you looking for a new summertime job in Oliver? Well Hester Creek Estate Winery is having a job fair on Saturday, February 8th from 11 to 3, where they will be looking to fill positions in their restaurant Terrafina, the Villas and the wine shop. Please check out their website or see Mrs. Frank for more details. 

 

  1. Are you interested in business and entrepreneurship?  There is a road trip to Kelowna on February 20th for grade 9 and 10 students to help explore the opportunities available.  Please see Mrs. Goncalves in the library to put your name on the list.  Students will be notified if they are chosen to attend.   

 

  1. Condition program for the Ultimate team will begin tomorrow after school from 3 – 4pm. Bring your gym strip and meet upstairs in the weight room.  

 

  1. Late Bus today.  Pick-up is at 4:45 in front of the school. 

 

  1. Glee Club at lunch today in the Drama Room. 

 

  1. Art and S.T.E.M club from 2:45-4:30 in the shop building. 

 

  1. Link Crew is selling candy-o-grams and song-o-grams at lunch today in the caf so come out and purchase some Valentines day goodies.   

 

  1. The following award applications and criteria are also now available at the office: 
  • Oliver Chronicle Bursary 
  • Francis Family Scholarships 
  • Amateur Players Bursary

  1. Attention all grads – Your bursary and scholarship form is due March 2 to the office! Please grab a form from the office if you haven’t already done so. 

 

  1. Attention all Grads: Don’t forget to sign up for your Grad Photos! Dates are March 2-6 and sign-up sheets are in the office. 

 

  1. In the Caf today it is Potato Bacon Soup and Ball Park Hot Dogs with toppings bar and Tomorrow is Tomato Basil soup and Macaroni & Cheese. 

 

  1.  There will be a Student Voice Meeting this Wednesday at lunch in Ms. Laver’s room. New students are always welcome. 

 

  1. Grade 10 and 11 students who would like to learn more about AP English Lit and the new En11 Honors/Pre-AP course are invited to an info session in Ms. Laver’s room tomorrow at lunch. Some tasty treats will be provided!
