SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

MONDAY DECEMBER 9TH, 2019 

 

 

  1. It’s time for our annual SOSS Food Drive.  Boxes will be set up by the big Christmas tree.  Let’s see which grade has the most school spirit.  Bring in your non-perishables and put them in your grade box.  Donations will be accepted until December 19.  Let’s show Oliver that SOSS cares – Which grade will bring in the most?   

 

  1. Mr Pod’s PE 10 Class – Please meet at the arena for broomball today and Thursday after lunch. 

 

  1. Gr 8 , Jr and Sr Basketball players are asked to please ensure all permission slips, athletic agreements, and fees are turned in by tomorrow.  

 

  1. In the Caf today it is Macaroni & Cheese with Potato Bacon Soup and Tuesday will be Butter Chicken and Butternut Squash Soup. 

 

  1. Student Voice Athletics will be running a floor hockey tournament beginning next week at lunch time. Teams must have 5 players on the roster. The sign-up sheet will be posted outside the PE office and teams will have until Friday to sign up.  For more information, ask Mr. Hall.  

 

  1. Link Crew are selling Candy-o-Grams.  Send a friend some Holiday Cheer by purchasing a Candy-o-Gram.  There will be Candy Canes and Cards for $1 and Bags of candy and cards for $3.  All proceeds from this will go to the local charity Highway to Healing. 

 

  1. Grad breakfast sign-up sheet is in the office.  Breakfast is on December 17.  

 

  1. Late Bus today.  Pick-up is at 4:45 in front of the school. 

 

  1. Glee Club at lunch today in the Drama Room. 

 

  1. Hey Legally Blonde Cast – there are three full cast rehearsals this week – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Let’s all do our best to learn these songs before Christmas break! 

 

  1. Environmental Challenge – instead of using disposable cups at Timmies – bring your own reusable one!  Let’s try to be more aware of how much goes in the garbage cans! 

 

  1. The Senior boys basketball team hosted their 59th annual Okana-qen basketball tournament this past weekend. The boys had a strong first two games and beat Summerland and LV Rogers to put them into the championship game. In the final game the boys fought hard but were unable to get the win as they were beat by Valleyview. The boys ended up finishing in second place, which is a good start to their season. Way to go Boys.
