 SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

                TUESDAY DECEMBER 3RD, 2019 

 

  1. Seniors...if you have not yet started your Capstone work then YOU ARE BEHIND. You should have at least looked at all of the assignments by now, so you can budget your time accordingly in order to complete everything on time. Please go into Teams and start putting together your Capstone work TODAY! See Ms. Smith or your grad mentors if you have questions or you’re having troubles getting started.  

 

  1. Legally Blonde Cast – an updated schedule has been posted outside of the drama room.  We will be doing more music rehearsals in order to get through a little more before the holidays.  Today is Elle, Warnerand Emmit.  Tomorrow  and Thursday are both full cast. Please do your home work – know the songs as well as you can. Check out the board so you know what songs we will be doing.  Also, notice the change for next week – rehearsals will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – NOT monday.  

 

  1. The Student Voice Athletics 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament wrapped up their final yesterday. It featured a close match between two very skilled teams. Congratulations to the tournament winners, the B & B squad on their championship win (Brayden Lee, Bradon Nemeth, Phat Thai and Riley Sommerville). Also, a big thank you to all participants and volunteers that helped make the tournament successful!  

 

  1. The Student Voice Club meets this Wednesday at lunch in Mrs. Laver’s room 208. New members in grades 10-12 are always welcome to join Student Voice at any time. 

 

  1. It’s time for our annual SOSS Food Drive.  Boxes will be set up by the big Christmas tree.  Let’s see which grade has the most school spirit.  Bring in your non-perishables and put them in your grade box.  Donations will be accepted until December 19.  Let’s show Oliver that SOSS cares – Which grade will bring in the most?   

 

  1. Mrs. Russo’s D Block PE 8 class is in the Gym today not at broomball. 

 

  1. Art club is cancelled after school today, but will resume as normal next week. 

 

  1. Grad Commitee meeting today at lunch on room 104. 

 

  1. Attention all field hockey players...would the following players please return your uniforms, sticks, gloves etc to Mrs. Lang  TODAY:  Faryn,  Anika, Dylan, Navrit-, Ashe, Jasneet,  Emma K,  Jordyn, Quincy, Jassi , Mya and Winter.  Call home if necessary.  These items are long overdue.  If you are not sure why your name is still on this list please see Mrs. Lang TODAY. 

 

 

  1. In the Caf today it is Chicken Pot Pie and Potato Leek Soup and tomorrow will be Greek Salad with Prawn or Chicken Skewers and Italian Gnocchi Soup. 

 

  1. Today is the last day to purchase grad hoodies. We will be selling them at lunch in the atrium. 

 

  1. Link Crew will be starting Candy-o-Gram sales this week.  Send a friend some Holiday Cheer by purchasing a Candy-o-Gram.  There will be Candy Canes and Cards for $1 and Bags of candy and cards for $3.  All proceeds from this will go to the local charity Highway to Healing.
