SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 26TH, 2019 

1. All Legally Blonde Cast, full cast meeting today at lunch in the Drama Room.  The meeting will be about a timeline for the production and expectations for the cast. Your first rehearsal is today afterschool. Come by and see Mrs. Pod if you need more information!   

1.  Field hockey players...please return all your uniforms and gear to Mrs. Lang.  This is long overdue.  Please get it in by tomorrow.  This includes all sticks and stick bags.  Those who wish to sign out sticks over the winter and spring can do so once inventory has been completed.   

1. Volleyball Hoodies – Aliyah Baptiste and Sam Mah please pay $60 to Mrs. Koffler and pick up your volleyball hoodie from Mr Podmorow 

1. Club Volleyball – Tonight from 7:30 – 9 in the main gym the newly created South Okanagan Volleyball Club will be hosting the first season evaluation session for any girls born between 2003 and 2006 and any boys born in 2004 and 2005 who are interested in playing club volleyball this year. We are looking at providing an opportunity for youth in our area to expand their knowledge, skills and love for the game of volleyball and hope to see you there. If you have any questions please speak to Mr. Podmorow. 

1. Attention Gr 8 Girls – The Gr 8 Basketball Season begins next Tuesday with a home game vs Holy Cross? Where are you? Why aren’t you out practicing? We need a strong turn-out of Gr 8 girls or the girls’ basketball program could be in jeopardy not only this year but for years to come. Bring a friend and come out to the next practice Thursday at 3pm. If you have any questions please speak to Mr Podmorow.  

1. Student Voice Athletics 3 on 3 Basketball continues today at lunch. Game 1 starts at 12:45pm (Big Baller Brand vs. GGB’s) Game 2 starts at 1:03pm (Team 4 vs. Team 5).  

1. This is the last day to get your Me to We Rafiki bracelets!!  they are 10$ and you can find them in the Caf at lunch and help create a better environment in developing countries. 

1. The Student Voice Club Retreat has been moved to this Friday. Please sign up by the end of today in the office to attend the retreat. 

1. Dance tickets are on sale at lunch in the Atrium.  Tickets are 5$ for general admission and $8 for VIP special access.  You must have a ticket to attend and tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door. 

1. Art Club today at 2:45 in the Art Room. 

1. In the Caf today it is Breakfast Sandwiches & Hashbrowns and limited quantities of Avocado toast and tomorrow there is no service as it is Inquiry Day.  Classes are out a 11:57. 

1. Ok listen up SOSS!! Next week the Library Advent Calendar is starting on Monday!  Everyday there will be either a Trivia Question, a Challenge or a Task announced on the Morning Announcements.  You must listen very carefully to hear what it is.  It will either be the best entry or the first entry.  The winner will receive the advent calendar prize for that day.  What are the prizes?... how about a Timmies Card or a free lunch in the Caf?  So get your game faces on a lets have some Christmas fun! 

1. Any art 9-10 students from term 1 who would like their artwork please pick up before the end of the day on Friday. Anything left after that will be recycled (please read Tues- Fri) 
    

1. Sr. Boys Basketball practice will be cancelled today. 

1. There will be a Mandatory Meeting today in the gym at lunch for all Gr. 8, Junior, and Senior, boys and girls playing on a basketball team.
