 SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

 WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 6TH, 2019 

 

  1. Student Voice Athletics will be running a 3 on 3 Basketball tournament starting Tuesday November 12th at lunch time in the gymnasium. Sign up for teams will be on the bulletin board outside the PE office and will be available until Friday. Teams must have 4 players to sign up.  

 

  1. The Grade 8 Girls Volleyball Team hosted games last night. The girls split sets in their opening match with Osoyoos Secondary then lost their second match in straight sets to Holy Cross Middle School. The girls stayed positive and came out strong winning their final game against Keremeos. Way to go Hornets!  

 

  1. Grads, don’t forget to pick up your meat and flower fundraising sheets from the office! Remember that every item you sell your grad fees will go down! Due date for orders is Nov 15. 

 

  1. In the Caf today it is Peri Peri Chicken and Chorizo and Gnocchi Soup and tomorrow will be Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl and Miso Soup. 

 

  1. The Final Cooking Challenge of Term 1 took place yesterday with a fantastic breakfast challenge. The judges debated for quite a while as it was almost a tie! The winners are : Giselle Weishelt, Dylan Methven, Isaac Jones and Anika Frazen-Brown. Congratulations to everyone in the class for an awesome term of cooking! 

 

  1. Student Voice meeting today at lunch in room 105. 

 

  1. SAGA (The Sexuality and Gender Alliance) meeting will be postponed until lunch on Friday!  

 

  1. IT’S AUDITION TIME – The first round of auditions for this year’s production Legally Blonde will be held next Wednesday and Thursday in the Drama Studio at 3:00pm.  Sign up for either day. It will be a group audition.  There will be 25-35 cast in the show. Look at the bulletin board outside the drama room for information about the show and the characters.   You have the long weekend to get your song prepared.  Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to be a part of the show.  

 

  1. Tickets for the Talent Show will be on sale next week in the atrium.  The cost is five dollars.  Come out  to see some amazing SOSS talent.  The show is November 20 at 7:00pm in the Frank Venables Theatre.  

 

  1. All grade 9 students please remember to get your immunization forms signed and brought back to the office. 

 

  1. Mr. Cruickshank’s Photography 9/10 class that starts today will be meeting in Room 104. 

 

  1. Hayden Lake please come to the office. 

 

  1. Operation Christmas Child - National Collection Week is Nov 18-24. Come down to the office and grab a shoe box to fill up for kids. 

  

  1. Attention to all Work Experience Students!  Your paperwork is due this Friday, November 8th.
