 SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 5TH, 2019 

1. Student Voice Athletics will be running a 3 on 3 Basketball tournament starting Tuesday November 12th at lunch time in the gymnasium. Sign up for teams will be on the bulletin board outside the PE office and will be available until Friday. Teams must have 4 players to sign up.  

1. Gr 8 Girls Volleyball – 4 score keepers are need for the Gr 8 Girls Volleyball games today beginning at 4pm. If you can help please see Mr Hall or Ms Frank. 

1. A reminder to the RECON team that we have our second observation night tonight and it is a much better time in the early evening. We will be meeting at the school at 4:30pm afterschool. 

1. Any Grade 9 and 10 boys interested in playing Junior boys basketball, try-outs are today, Tuesday November 5 at 7pm in the Main Gym.  

1. Grade 11 students, listen up...The Numeracy Assessment is coming up for all grade 11 students and any grade 12’s who have not yet written it. We will be writing Nov 6 or 7 and the lists for which day you will be writing are listed on the fishbowl. The assessments will be done in the computer labs, so please pay attention to what room you will be working in as well as what day you will be completing the numeracy assessment. Please see Ms. Smith with any questions. 

1. Grads, don’t forget to pick up your meat and flower fundraising sheets from the office! Remember that every item you sell your grad fees will go down! Due date for orders is Nov 15. 

1. In the Caf today it is Beef Dip Sandwiches and Corn Bacon Chowder and tomorrow will be Peri Peri Chicken and Chorizo and Gnocchi Soup. 

1. Student Voice meeting on Wednesday at lunch in room 105. 

1. Art club is cancelled today after school and next Tuesday November 12th. There will be an alternate session on Nov. 13th. 

1. IT’S AUDITION TIME – The first round of auditions for this year’s production Legally Blonde will be held next Wednesday and Thursday in the Drama Studio at 3:00pm.  The girls will be on Wednesday and the boys will be on Thursday – call backs will be the following week.  You have the long weekend to get your song prepared.  Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to be a part of the show.  

1. Tickets for the Talent Show will be on sale next week in the atrium.  The cost is five dollars.  Come out  to see some amazing SOSS talent.  The show is November 20 at 7:00pm in the Frank Venables Theatre.
