SOUTHERN OKANAGAN SECONDARY SCHOOL 
 WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 30TH, 2019 
 
Halloween is tomorrow!  Don’t forget to dress-up!  There will be a costume parade, judges and prizes for the best individual costume, the best duo costume and the best group costume.  Can’t wait to see everyone dressed up! 
 
There are still students looking for math and science tutors, please see Ms. Gabel in the counselling office in you are interested.    
 
Graduates of 2020! This coming Friday during D block we will be meeting in the library to discuss your Capstone course. Please check in to your D block classes and then quickly make your way to the library. Capstone is a 4 credit course required for graduation and your attendance at the meeting is mandatory. Please bring your phones to the meeting so we walk you through how to access the course work. See you Friday Grads to learn all about Capstone! 
 
The Numeracy Assessment is coming up for all grade 11 students and any grade 12’s who have not yet written it. We will be writing Nov 6 or 7 and the lists for which day you will be writing are listed on the fishbowl. The assessments will be done in the computer labs, so please pay attention to what room you will be working in as well as what day you will be completing the numeracy assessment. Please see Ms. Smith with any questions 
 
The Grade 8 Girls Volleyball Team travelled to Keremeos for games last night. The Hornets defeated Skaha Lake Middle School and Princeton Secondary in straight sets while splitting sets with Keremeos. Way to go Hornets! 
 
The Grade 8 boys volleyball team hosted Summerland and Keremeos last night. The boys played some of their best volleyball of the season and beat both teams in two quick sets, including Keremeos who is currently ranked Number 1 in our league. Way to go hornets! 
 
Grads, don’t forget to pick up your meat and flower fundraising sheets from the office! Remember that every item you sell your grad fees will go down! 
 
Reminder that there is no Caf Service today as it is Early Dismissal, classes are out at 11:57. Tomorrow in the Caf it is Pulled Pork Sandwiches.
