  1. The Grade 8 Volleyball teams hosted the Hornet’s Nest Challenge Invitational over the weekend. Both boys and girl’s teams competed hard against some of the best competition from around the Okanagan and Kootenays. Although the boys didn’t win a match, they demonstrated great effort and development as players over the weekend. The girls finished 4th overall losing out to the eventual tournament winners Trafalger Middle School in the semi-finals. Great work Hornet’s! There will be a short meeting in the library for the grade 8 girl’s players today at the start of lunch.

On Saturday the Sr Girl’s played their best volleyball of the season easily defeating Stanley Humphries of Castlegar while falling in hard fought losses to David Thompson of Vancouver and Aberdeen Hall in a close 3rd set tie breaker. Well done Hornets!  Members of the team are reminded that practices this week are today at 4:30 and Thursday right after early dismissal.

  1. "Congratulations to the Jr Boy's Volleyball team for placing 4th in Maggie's tournament over the weekend. The boys played well, especially against their rivals from Summerland on Saturday, where they gave the team a run for their money leading in both games and only losing by a few points.  Special thanks goes out to Coach Mackey for his excellent coaching and continued support!"
