Announcements October 1st, 2019

  1. Skateboard club is on THURSDAY this week, not Tuesday. Meet in the back parking lot as usual. 

 

  1. Alive After 5 is on Wednesday. Garde 10 students check the Alive After 5 Schedule on the Fishbowl by the office. Please go to your First and second block classes for attendance, then head to the library for your scheduled session. 

 

  1. Student Voice monthly meeting will be on Wednesday at lunch in room 104. Be prepared to share what you have done so far and what your next steps are. If you have any questions, please see your mentor teacher or Ms. Smith or Mrs. Harrington. 

 

  1. There is still time to sign up for the talent show taking place on November 6th!  sign-up now on the sign-up sheets outside of the Drama room.  Can you juggle?  Can you dance?  Do you do magic tricks?  How about hoola-hoop? Or Sing and dance?  What about a monologue? You think you got talent?  Don’t delay sign up today! 

 

  1. Attention grads – please get your quotes into Mrs. McVicar no later than Wednesday October 2nd or the photography class will make one up for you. 

 

  1.  Today in the Caf it is Donairs and Pho and tomorrow will be Perogies & Bacon and Miso or Wonton Soup. 

 

  1. Art Club after school at 2:45 in the Art Room. 

 

  1. There is now a Breakfast Club every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning at 8:00am in the Atrium. The breakfast is free, just bring your smiling faces. If you are needing some volunteer hours please see Shan in the Gathering Room for more information.  

 

  1. The following students need to see Ms.Jones in the office: Savanah Adams, Jackie Bracken, Karamjot Braich, and Abigail Swift. 

 

  1. Sr Girls Basketball – All in Grade 11 and 12 interested in playing Sr Girls basketball are asked to attend an important information meeting in Mrs. Seminoff’s room Tuesday at lunch 

 

  1. The Senior Girls field hockey team played an outstanding game against OKM yesterday afternoon, defeating the bigger Kelowna school 3-0. Goals were scored by Madison Boen-ShekulaRiah Podmorow, and Ashe Gill with assists from Grace Neily. Goalie Kiera Gaudet recorded her first shut-out of the season in this all-around team effort. Way to go, Hornets! 

 

  1. The Junior Girls field hockey teams plays today against Keremeos. Come out to the top field at 4pm to cheer them on.  

 

  1. Open Mic Music – If you’re looking an opportunity to perform music, come to the band room at lunch on Wednesday, Oct. 2. See Mr. Baerg for more details. 

 

  1. Indigenous students - there is Junior Girls Group today after lunch in the Gathering Room, please see Miss Baptiste at lunch if you have any questions.
