  1. Girls Can Talk Club is having their first meeting today in Ms. Shione’s room 205 afterschool from 3-4. Anyone who is interested in learning about women’s rights issues, empowering women in our community and supporting women and young girls in developing countries, please join us! 

 

  1.  Today in the Caf it is Cobb Salad and Corn Chowder and tomorrow is Pizza Day. 

 

  1. Bhangra Club is at lunch today in Ms. Shionne’s room. 

 

  1. Any students who have not received their pictures yet, please pick them up in the office.  Pictures are due September 30. 

 

  1. Attention grads – please get your quotes into Mrs. McVicar no later than Wednesday October 3rd or the photography class will make one up for you. 

 

  1. Last night the Sr Girls’ Volleyball team played three league matches at Princess Margaret. The Hornets faced the rival Mustangs in the opening match. The girls battled through and beat Maggie in 3 sets to even the season series at one match each. Other matches last night were played against more polished Aberdeen Hall and Kelowna Christian teams. The Hornets lost in a straight set to each of these opponents but showed that they can play a strong and focused defensive game. This weekend the Sr Girls” Volleyball team travels to Mt Sentinel Secondary to participate in the 41st Annual Kootenay Classic Volleyball tournament. Good Luck Hornets! 

 

  1. Jr Boys Volleyball – All members of the Jr Boys Volleyball team are reminded that permission slips and athletic agreement forms are due to Mr. Podmorow today. 

 

  1.  Student Voice monthly meeting will be next Wednesday at lunch in room 104. Be prepared to share what you have done so far and what your next steps are. If you have any questions, please see your mentor teacher or Ms. Smith or Mrs. Harrington.
