At Southern Okanagan Secondary School one of the skills that students are introduced to, and encouraged to practice, is that of digital literacy.

Students are provided with the opportunity to work in the digital spaces of Office 365 for Education and Google Apps for Education.  Both of these platforms provide access for students to their files and programs wherever they have access to the internet.  This cloud based practice allows students to collaborate with their peers and teachers on work in real-time making group work effortless, and with automatic saving students will never lose a file again!

Students are required to have parent/guardian permissions prior to activating their school accounts.  Permissions are signed once during a students school career, and access will be removed once the student graduates or leaves the school.

GUIDELINES FOR POSITIVE COMMUNICATION

In the Okanagan Similkameen School District, we want schools to be safe, supportive, and welcoming places for students to learn and for staff to work. A key part of creating this environment is how we communicate and work together as a community.

We deeply value the partnership between home and school and ask for your support as outlined in the following document.
