A letter from Superintendent Young

Good Afternoon,

You may have tuned in for the announcement this afternoon from Premier John Horgan and Minister Fleming directing all schools to suspend in-classroom instruction until further notice.  They are asking districts to begin planning for ‘continuity of learning’ following spring break.  Please find attached a letter from Minister Fleming addressed to all staff and parents.  Undoubtedly, you will have many questions.  I am confident that answers to those questions will come clear in the next few days and ask for your patience as we figure this out.  Please be assured that I will be working with senior admin, school admin and staff to put a plan together that we can discuss with all partners next week.

The situation is rapidly changing and I will provide updated information as necessary and as it is available.  Thank you for your patience as this evolves.  We will work together in support of each other, families, and those most affected by this terrible illness.  I am also hoping there is some way that we can contribute to those front line workers and health care professionals that may not have alternate means of care for their children.

I hope you take this time to stay close with your families and enjoy  your time as best as possible.  Please watch for updates and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have urgent questions.

Bev
