  1. The SOSS Rising Stars Spring Showcase is this week You won’t want to miss this amazing show featuring music and dance performances by some of our very talented students. Showtime is 7pm on Thursday, April 18 at Venables Theatre. Get your tickets at the box office or online.! 

 

  1. The Hornets Ultimate team hosted their 2nd annual Southern Flights tournament over the weekend. The Jr. Squad finished with a final record of 3-3 finishing in 9th place overall with a big win over Princess Margaret in their 9th place game. The Sr. Team would face some tough competition but finished 3-0 after round robin play on Friday. The Hornets would ride their winning streak into the quarterfinals against Grand Forks Jr. They played a tight game and came ahead with the victory 7-4. In the semifinals, the Hornet’s faced off against Summerland Secondary. In another very tight game, the Hornets came out on top finishing with a final score of 10-7 setting up a final against Grand Forks Sr. The Hornets were in tough against a seasoned provincial squad but would eventually lose 11 – 3. Overall, we are very proud of your 2nd place finish with a record of 5-1 in the tournament. Way to go Hornets! 

 

  1. Skateboard Club trip this Thursday, April 18. 

 

  1. A friendly message from Mr. Hill, on behalf of the Awards Committee. Could all A-Block teachers please open the email sent from him, which has an attached QR code document; the QR code will take students and staff to an online vote in search of information for our upcoming SOSS awards season. This QR code and accompanying web address will be posted in the Library as well until Wednesday at lunch. Thank you for your participation in this fact-finding venture. 

 

  1. The Senior and Junior Girls Soccer Teams competed in the Osoyoos Tournament this last weekend. We are very proud of our juniors for braving it against all senior teams for their first games of the season. The senior team came 3rd overallThey played extremely well as a team and came up against some strong competitionThe team is looking forward to their game in Penticton against Maggie today and our home tournament this coming Friday and Saturday.
