Today in the Caf it is Terriyaki Rice bowls and Minestrone Soup and tomorrow will be Meatloaf, Corn chowder

and Pumpkin soup.

  1. Beading poppies in gathering room at lunch with Tara.

  1. All girls are reminded of open gym basketball tonight at 6:30. See Mr. Schulting for details

  1. The Senior Field Hockey team returned to their pre-pandemic tradition of deciding the Valley Championship in a nail-biting shootout against South Kamloops. The first shooter for South Kam was their best player, a German exchange student. She drove into the shooting circle, and deked wide right, slipping what looked like a certain goal towards the net. That’s when Kaylee Klassen dove headfirst towards her post, catching the ball with the tip of her blocker. In Emma Millward’s words “I knew at that moment they weren’t going to score any goals on Kaylee.” Kate Noftle’s goal for SOSS was enough to earn the Hornets the win, and a good ranking going into Provincials. Kismet Dhaliwal also had an excellent game for the Hornets. Great job, team!

  1. Congratulations to the Grade 8 Girls’ volleyball team. After losing some close matches on Friday in Vernon they came back with some of the best volleyball of their season to date on Saturday. With three straight wins, the Hornets won their tier and left Vernon on a high! The girls have their last league matches this Wednesday with the playoffs next week in Osoyoos on Tuesday.

  1. The Jr Boys Volleyball Team played in the TRU Howler in Kamloops on the weekend. Wins were hard to come by this weekend, but the boys played some of their best volleyball of the season on Friday in tight matches vs OKM, Abby Christian and George Elliot teams. The Hornets were less focused on Saturday and finished in a tie for 4th in their Tier. Members of the team are reminded that practice is at regular time today.

  1. The Jr Girls volleyball team travelled to Kamloops over the weekend. There were some hard fought battles on Friday and Saturday and the girls ended up 5th in their tier. Girls are reminded that practice is at 4:30 today.

  1. The Junior Field Hockey team hosted the South Zone Championships on Saturday. They beat Pen High 1-0 to make it to the finals. Unfortunately, in the finals they lost 1-0 to Maggie, overall placing 2nd in the South Zone. They played a great game where they carried most of the play. This season all players have shown tremendous growth. Strong play mentions of the championships go to Meredith Lester, Vienna von Burg, Audrey Noftle, and Ophene Pepe. Well done on a great season girls.

  1. Any girls interested in playing in a dodge ball league Wednesday’s at lunch. Sign up is at the gym office. You can enter a team or as an individual and we can put you on team. We need enough girls for 4 teams of 8 for us to have a league. Winners will play the Hot SOSS women’s team.

  1. Slay Girlie Pop Queens and BBC were victorious in dodgeball on Thursday. Tomorrow team 2 versus 3 and Team 4 versus 7 play. Come out and watch The Dodge, Duck, Dive, Dodge league.

  1. Art club after school today in the art room.
