  4. Skateboard club is on THURSDAY this week, not Tuesday. Meet in the back parking lot as usual. 

 

  1. Alive After 5 is this week. Grade 10 students will attend one of two sessions with the guest speaker Grade 10 Students are asked to check the Alive After 5 Schedule on the Fishbowl by the office. Please go to your First and second block classes for attendance, then head to the library for your scheduled session. 

 

  1. Student Voice monthly meeting will be on Wednesday at lunch in room 104. Be prepared to share what you have done so far and what your next steps are. If you have any questions, please see your mentor teacher or Ms. Smith or Mrs. Harrington. 

 

  1. Attention grads – please get your quotes into Mrs. McVicar no later than Wednesday October 3rd or the photography class will make one up for you. 

 

  1. The grade 8 girls volleyball team travelled to Kelowna over the weekend and competed in a tournament at Okanagan Mission Secondary. The girls finished a solid 8th out of 16 teams. Great job Hornets! There will be a short meeting for all players today in the library at the beginning of lunch.   

 

  1.  Today in the Caf it is Gourmet Hot Dogs and Red Pepper Corn Chowder and tomorrow will be Donairs and Pho. 

 

  1. A Reminder that all picture orders are due to the office today.  No late orders will be accepted. 

 

  1. Late Bus today.  Pick-up is at 4:45 in front of the school. 

 

  1. Glee Club meets in the drama room at lunch today. 

 

  1. Europe meeting today at lunch! Grade’s 9, 10 and 11, Are you interested in travelling to Greece and Italy?  Mrs. Seminoff is taking a group of students in the spring of 2021. If you are interested come and see her in room 105 for more details today at lunch. We need to sign up ASAP as prices will increase soon! 

 

  1. The Sr Girls’ Volleyball Team travelled to Mt. Sentinel in South Slocan to participate in the 41 Annual Kootenay Classic Volleyball tournament featuring teams from the East and West Kootenays. It was a very busy weekend of volleyball where Hornets played 7 matches over the two days. The girl’s placed fifth after a tough 3 set loss in the playoffs vs LV Rogers of Nelson. This coming weekend the Sr Girls and Sr Boys Volleyball Teams will host their annual Hornet Invitational Volleyball tournament. Matches begin at 1pm on Friday afternoon. Come out and cheer on your Hornets!!! 

 

  1. The junior girls and Grade 8 field hockey teams hosted a successful tournament this weekend and scored lots of goals while they were at it. Well done Hornets! 

 

  1. The Sr Girls Field hockey team are reminded to be on the bus by 1:30pm for their game against OKM. 

 

  1. Reminder to Mr. Baptiste’s Workplace math 9 class that they need to meet by the office at the beginning of lunch after the bell.
